You do not need a special nail or hook to hang a quilt using our hanger. A very small nail
or picture hook will do for most quilts. 3M makes a saw tooth picture hanger #17040 with command strips that works perfectly with our quilt hanger on many size quilts and you wont have any holes in your wall.
How do I attach a sleeve to my quilt?
There are a couple of ways to put a sleeve on your quilt. You can purchase a pre-made one such as the Quilters Hangup or you can make one using these instructions at AQS publishing BlogSpot
How is the hang it dang it faster and easier to use?
All quilt hangers currently on the market require two or more nails, hooks, clamps, magnets, Velcro, etc. that need to be leveled, measured and aligned with one another in order for the quilt to hang straight and level. The hang it dang it
quilt hanger only needs one hook or nail to hang your quilt straight and level. This eliminates all the tools and time it used to take to hang your quilt. Anyone can hang a quilt using the hang it dang it, usually in less than a minute.
How does it work?
The hang it dang it quilt hanger slides into a sleeve sewn onto the back of your quilt. The hanger bracket snaps onto the hanger rod
over top of the sleeve using a powerful neodymium magnet located in the center of the hanger rod. Hang your quilt on the wall using one nail in the center.
How long will the magnets last?
Our magnets are made from nickel plated rare earth neodymium and will last for hundreds
of years.
How is it self-leveling?
By using only one hanger bracket attached to the center of the hang it dang it
quilt hanger, your quilt will balance itself naturally.
How can it hold so much weight?
The hang it dang it uses a powerful neodymium magnet, along with a patent pending hanger bracket that will hold up to 40 pounds.
What is the best way to display my quilt on a wall?
The most recommended way used by quilting professionals and museums
is to attach a sleeve to the back of your quilt and insert a rod in
it. This evenly distributes the weight across the entire width
of your quilt. Using clamps that compress the fabric in only a
few places may damage your quilt by stretching and leave permanent
marks.
Will it damage my quilt?
The hang it dang it is guaranteed to not damage your quilt in any way. Your quilt is evenly supported along the entire top edge by the hanger rod in the sleeve. The hanger bracket holds the sleeve to the hanger rod with the same even pressure every time.
What if my quilt is out of square or heavier on one side than the other, how will it self level?
The hanger bracket can be moved slightly to the left or right of center to bring your quilt into level. If you find that after hanging your quilt, the top is straight, but the sides or bottom do not look right, you can adjust the hang it dang it to one side or the other to fudge the difference.
I have young children, won’t it be easier for them to pull my quilt off the wall?
In our experience, the hang it dang it is less likely to be pulled off the wall by young children. Your child can pull on your quilt and move it around quite a bit with out pulling it off the wall, when they let it go it will settle back to hanging straight and level.
